I have become addicted to Snapchat. At first, I downloaded it to my phone and had no clue how to use it, so I gave up. I added my first Snapchatter and then I was hooked. Snapchat to me is fun because its like Instagram, and vlogging. The filters are cool too! I love how to see the personalities of the bloggers I follow and sneak peeks of all the cool events they attend or what they do regularly. Below, I wanted to shout-out some of my favorite Snapchatters.
If you stop by these lovely ladies, please tell 'em Karizma sent ya. You can check me out at @karizmafabulous on Snapchat. I love receiving snaps, so snap me anytime (please no inappropriate snaps). Also, I will be to hosting a snapchat giveaway soon.
I'm starting a new series on the blog, "Werkin' It at Work". Since I was a corporate diva for years, I knew what it was like to conjure up five outfits for the week and waking up every morning staring at my closet wondering "I need new clothes" or "I never have anything to wear". The struggle always came during the summer months, when its to hot to wear anything at all. Keep in mind, I know that most workplaces are different, some more conservative or creative, so this is just for inspirational purposes. So, here's how to "werk" it while working.
All items are from H&M and affordable! More money for iced lattes and froyo.
If you're anything like me (and if not, you suck, lol, jk), you love sandals. I don't know what it is about a fresh colorful pedicure and an awesome pair of sandals feels like match made in heaven. I put together some of my favorite sandal and nail polish colors combinations. In my mind, the combos are endless, so don't be afraid to mix it up.
It's Father's Day here in the States! I have so many fond memories of my Dad, but I think some of the best memories I remember are the ones where my Dad and I would hang out on Saturday mornings. We would get breakfast, probably going to a local diner or Ihop. We would then just run errands (my dad would always have a project he was working on) or hang out at a park. We didn't do much but it was amazing just spending time with my Dad and listening to him tell stories and crack jokes. That quality time made us so close. I am blessed to have my Dad in my life and I glad that we are still close to this day. Today, we will be chilling out in the backyard and doing a little grilling. So, in the honor of my Dad and all the Dads out there, Happy Father's Day!
I wanted to do a weekly recap about random things this week:
Bad Customer Service- This is one of my pet peeves. This week I went to the Apple store on 14th ave in NYC and dealt with a very unpleasant worker with a nasty attitude and it really worked my nerves. I dealt with servicing clients for years in my previous work and yes, some people were horrible to deal to with but I never showed an attitude to them, especially for no reason at all. That's a big no-no. Thats why I prefer online shopping these days.
Job Search- I am still on the hunt for a new job and let me tell you it's very hard. I have applied to dozens and still nothing yet. I am trying to stay positive because this can get very discouraging. But I have prayed and put it into the Lord's hands.
Touristy NY Things-While I have this extra free time, I planned to do a lot of NYC things that are considered touristy. I have lived here for my entire life and still have not conquered several things and the list gets longer and longer. This week I went to the High Line and Chelsea Market. Next, Coney Island.
Finishing A Book- In a previous post, I mentioned I was reading a book called, ""Fall for Him: 25 Challenges from a Recovering Single"by Brenda H. Rodgers. It has helped me to think of single life differently and how to deal with life as a single Christian woman. A great book for those needing guidance on how to deal with single life and your relationship with God.
Health- I have been consistent with my daily workout and I am so proud of myself. This has been one of the hardest goal in my life that I have ever tried to accomplish. I have been doing at home workouts with Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred. Jillian is so intense and I love it. This week I'm down 2 pounds. *cues happy dance*
Life Goals- I just read an article about the 80/20 rule (aka the "Pareto Principle). I heard about the 80/20 rule, most famously from the Tyler Perry movie, "Why Did I Get Married?" but I did not know that it could be applied to all aspects of life. From business to relationships to weight loss, the 80/20 can be used to improve your life. Check out this article for more on the 80/20 rule and Google it.
